Where to stay in Cromwell, Bannockburn & Alexandra

The hot, dry heart of Central Otago wine. Cromwell sits beside Bannockburn and Lowburn; Alexandra, Clyde and Roxburgh lead on towards the Teviot Valley and the Otago Central Rail Trail.

1. Closest to the grapes

This is the nearest you can sleep to the Bannockburn and Lowburn vineyards. Fewer beds than Queenstown means quieter evenings and an easier walk to a dinner table.

2. Book first

With only a small number of places in the area, beds go early in the summer and around the vintage. Reserve your bed before booking tastings.

3. Mix with Queenstown

Many visitors split the stay: one or two nights here for the vineyards, then Queenstown or Wanaka for the lakes. Check driving times for the day you travel.

Distances to Blenheim, Cromwell and Queenstown are in a straight line, not by road. Check rates and cancellation terms with the hotel before you commit to a night.
